The VETS Group utilizes the services of the Lord and Tucker Management Company (LTMC) to provide high-quality training in entrepreneurship, federal government contracting, management, leadership and workforce development. LTMC is known for its sound management approaches and detailed technical knowledge to improve the capacity of its clients to operate more efficiently and effectively.
Under the direction, of Dawn L. Tucker, Program Director, the VETS Group provides professional development services and employment assistance for our veterans through workshops, seminars, technical training and one-on-one coaching. Training is customized to meet the individual or organization’s unique needs. Ms. Tucker has over 15 years experience in finance, business, and federal government contracting having held key positions in both the private and public sectors.
The VETS Group also conducts formal classroom training utilizing several course curriculums. The FastTrac Planning and New Venture curriculums, as developed by the Ewing Marion Kaufman Foundation, brings together expert facilitators, content experts and successful entrepreneurs from the local community to act as co-instructors and mentors for program participants.
The FastTrac New Venture module focuses on the entrepreneur, the market, competition, and product profitability analysis of new venture ideas (and helps the participant determine if a business idea is strong enough to pursue). The FastTracä Planning module focuses on all facets of growing a business, from legal structure and management team to exit strategy. Both modules offer instruction as well as practical hands-on training.
In addition, formal classroom training is offered under the Federal Procurement Training Series. This 5-week course offers in depth information on Selling and Marketing to the Federal Government and how to leverage the Federal Procurement Legislation for Veteran Business Owners.
